What are the chances of the baby's survival?From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 26 Dec 2001 18:29:30 -0600 (CST)
I am about 7weeks pregnant and started spotting with no pain (brownish) a couple days ago. I went the the Emergency Room and they gave me a urinalysis and felt my belly (external) and told me to come back in the morning for an ultrasound. The next morning I woke up feeling wet so I went to the bathroom and passed a very large clot and was bleeding a little more than before - still no pain. Since I was going to the hospital anyway in an hour I decided to wait to tell the doctor then. When I got the hospital, the sonogram showed no baby (had an external and internal done). The doctor told me to rest and to come back in 10 days for another sonogram. ????????? I'm confused and don't know what they mean. Do they think the baby is "hiding" and they can't see it? Is that possible? What are the chances that the baby has survived this? Or are they just sparing my feelings and waiting until the holidays are over? Thank you AMY
