After finding a 5.6 mm nuchal fold on my 19 week U/S, my OB sent me to a specialist for Level II U/S. On the level II at 20 weeks, the nuchal fold only measured 3.6 mm, so the perinatologist didn't recommend an amnio- told me to relax and not worry about it. However, I'm still concerned, because I know that nuchal folds can diminish over time. Also, I had a high HCG (2.2 MOM) in my triple screen, which I understand can also indicate Down's (though the overall screen was negative- I'm 31 BTW). I'm going crazy with worry. Should I insist on having an amnio, or is everything really ok? Any opinions much appreciated!
