I have done a lot of reading about GD since I was diagnosed, and perhaps I have stronger feelings about the subject since I have learned that quite a few people with GD go on to develop Type 2 diabetes later in life. So I am a bit paranoid about it, especially with the family history thereof :) Anyway, about seeing organ damage in baby, some of it can be seen. I don't know about organ damage in you, I wouldn't think they would see that on an US since they aren't really looking at you, just the baby. I know I had to go get a fetal echo done to check for heart problems with my baby (they couldn't quite see everything they needed to see on the Level II US). Everything was fine. Eye damage, I am pretty sure you would notice yourself. But I believe some of the organ stuff is determined from blood tests, some chemicals will be there or not be there in your blood depending on if something has been affected.
