Breech position, any advice?

Hi. Now, I'm not looking for any absolute answer- just sound advice if any exists. Yesterday at my 28 week check-up my provider told me that my baby is lying in a breech position (she determined this from palpating.) She did say that she was not critically worried- that the baby could adjust himself naturally- however, is it safe to rub my belly or gently (yet with pressure) try to get him to move? This may sound ridiculous but I cannot stress how much I would like to avoid a c-section.

Thank you kindly, Nora
