Re: Is a D&C always necessary?

With my last pregnancy I miscarried at 5-1/2 weeks, and it sounds very similar to what you went through. My doc sent me home and told me I only needed to go to the hospital if I started bleeding heavily enough to fill a pad in less than one hour. I came close to that amount but fortunately was able to pass everything naturally without a D&C. It is probably a good idea to see your OB and let him or her know what has happened so you can get checked out. Sounds like you're doing fine physically and shouldn't need further treatment, but it's always best to be sure.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how traumatic the whole experience can be.
