C-section and exploratory surgeryFrom: Andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 16 Dec 2001 12:05:42 -0600 (CST)
I am a 28 year old, and in June 2000, I had a borderline ovarian tumor removed from my left ovary and was instructed by my Ob/Gyn and Oncologist to get pregnant right away, before there is any recurrance, if I ever wanted children. I did so, and am currently 36 weeks pregnant. Prior to my surgery, I was monitored via CT scans, ultrasounds, and CA-125. During my pregnancy, I have only had ultrasounds as monitoring. I was just wondering if it would be a wise idea to schedule a C-Section, and my doctor can check out my ovaries at the same time. Is this a possibility, or is there some medical reason why this is not possible? I am going to ask my doctor at my next appointment, Wednesday. I just wanted to run this by another medical professional in the meantime! Thank you for your time.
