Ibuprofen for irritable uterus/'BH' + funny belly pain questionFrom: Kim (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 14 Dec 2001 08:27:41 -0600 (CST)
Is ibuprofen ever used to "relax" an irritable uterus or relieve BH? I read this on another board and have never heard of it. Or is is just used for relief of discomfort (which I guess would come from relaxing the uterus). THIS PART IS A REPOST: Sometimes, when my baby moves (I'm 25+ weeks), I feel what I can only compare to an internal electric shock that follows the hand/foot dragging against my belly. I literally shrieked out loud in a meeting yesterday (clutched my belly and scared the pants off my male boss) when I felt a hand/foot drag from stem to stern -- think baby flipped over -- and got that "zapping" feeling the entire way. OMG, I didn't rupture or abrupt or anything, did I? No bleeding or other changes, but I did feel "numb" along the drag-line for a few minutes, exactly as if I'd been shocked! This has happened a few times before. Any ideas? Thanks!
