The reality of things is that once a woman gets to 4cms and with associated 100%effacement, she is going to deliver in the near future, defined as hours to days, with a week being quite extraordinary. On the other hand, 34 weeks is not at all bad, expecially since you have been given the steroids. Many babies go home with their mothers at that age, and virtually all the rest just need minor support for a few days after delivery.
