37 weeks with bronchitisFrom: natalie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 9 Dec 2001 10:51:45 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and have just about the worst case of bronchitis I have ever had. My cough at night is so bad I can barely sleep. It is a dry cough, and Robitussin doesn't seem to work too well (I am still sick during the day, but not nearly as bad). What I am worried about is that at night I can barely catch my breath (even when I'm not coughing). What can I take to feel better? I don't think I can stand another night like this. I am also worried about the shortness of breath and it's effect on my baby. I just started amoxicillin. I hope this helps, but is there anything I can take to relieve the symptoms? I am afraid the coughing will put me into early labor or have a negative effect on the baby. Is this possible or just stupid worry on my part? When I am short of breath is this decreasing oxygen to the baby?
