3 Questions

Hello,

I'm being induced on Tuesday due to mild pre-eclampsia - mostly PIH.

Question 1: I've been on bedrest for almost 5wks. The baby is still way up high, and very content. Is is possible for the baby to drop when you're laying horizontal all day long? It seems like gravity would help, but being on bedrest, that can't happen.

Question 2: My bp bounces around between 110/70 - 145/95. It rises if I do anything (go make a sandwich for lunch, walk upstairs to get a book) but goes right back down when I lay down for a few minutes. I've told my dr this, but anytime I go for an appointment, she has me lay in a dark room, on my left side, for about a half hour before she will take my pressure. Then it is always low. I'm just wondering and a little concerned about the effect that labor will have on my bp. I obviously will not be laying calmly (well I'll try) in a dark room during my entire labor experience. It seems like with my history over the past few weeks, it is bound to go up. Could my bp be a reason to end up doing a c-secion? Is there a bp level that warrant that?

Question 3: How soon after delivery can I expect the throbbing in my arms and numbness in my hands (carpal tunnel?) to go away?

Thanks for your time!
