*Slowish* fetal heart rate questionFrom: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 6 Dec 2001 09:31:42 -0600 (CST)
Hello. I'm currently 38.5 weeks and the baby's heart rate has been at 120 for the past few weeks, which is within the normal range but towards the low end. One of the hospital doctors whom I recently had a checkup with said that babies' heart rates tend to fall towards the end of pregnancy. Is this true? Also, and more importantly, if the baby's heart rate is already towards the low end of what's normal/acceptable, could labour/contractions more easily exacerbate the situation, resulting in fetal distress and medical intervention? Thanks!
