Posting again....fever during early pregnancyFrom: Allyson (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 5 Dec 2001 13:40:21 -0600 (CST)
On Saturday I was 5w5d pg and woke up with the flu and a fever of 101.8. I had a fever till Tuesday (6w1d pg) that ranged from mid 99's up to 101.5 but never got any higher than the 101.8 on that first day. I called my Dr who seemed very unconcerned, told me to take Tylenol, fluids and get rest. As I search online I see that fever in early pg can increase neural tube defects and heart defects. My question is how worried should I be? Since my fever never went above 102 should things most likely be okay? I m/c in September at 14 weeks so I am super nervous about this pregnancy. Thanks, Allyson
