Is this true?From: Jessica (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Nov 2001 19:39:50 -0600 (CST)
Okay, one last question, and I'll stop (at least until my next appointment when I get a new crop of questions). I swear I ask my doctor a million questions at the office, and think of a million more on the way home. What is the normal range of ultrasound measurements for accuracy? Today, at 16 weeks, 5 days, all my measurements had +/- 10 days on them. With my pregnancy at 16W5D, all my measurements were running in the early 17th week (17W 2-4D), except for the femur, which was at 16W 2D. There was a ratio of .79 for the BPD/FL. I'm assuming all of it is normal, and the radiologist made a comment that femurs are often a little shorter at this stage of pregnancy, but that baby's was in the normal range. She said it was the ratio that was key. I know I'm being paranoid, but I know shorter femurs can be a marker for trouble. Is it okay to be that far behind the other measurements? My overall combination of measurements in general made the pregnancy older than my LMP (by 4 days), which I was told was a good sign (we're checking for growth b/c of other issues). Am I just borrowing trouble, or is the femur length an issue, with the ratio, and at this gestational age? Is it even much of a deviance? Thanks! Jessica
