What is standard timing for first ultrasound? Can the doctor tell me when a first ultrasound is routinely done? Last period was nov. 1. Preg test is positive today on nov. 30 . I am supposed to see doc for first appt on jan 3. I asked if i were going to be having a first ultrasound then as it will be 9 weeks from my last period and they said no, ultrasound is done only once around 18 weeks.. Now I know I have heard of many people getting one at 5-6 weeks or so to see heartbeat.
