If I were you, I'd keep testing one cycle, just to see what happens, because the same thing happend to me, but one month, I tested the next day, and I had a really dark line, darker than the test line and just as wide, so I wondered if before I'd stopped testing too soon and had been catching the very beginning of a surge, rather than the peak. Although even those lines which were "as dark as" but thinnner, still obviously represented a surge from previous tests, so I think either way it says ovulation is coming, it just may be that it's a little further out by 12-24 hours than when you catch it darker.
