Re: Is there an easy way to tell the difference between sexual arousal fluids and CM and semen???From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Nov 2001 10:59:06 -0600 (CST)
I read that the difference is the following — semen breaks apart faster when you stretch it between your fingers, plus it forms multiple strands, where as egg white cervical mucous tends to make one clear stretchy strand. As for arousal fluid, I think, at least for me, it tends to be thinner and more fluid with white in it, and doesn't have the form and texture of ewcm. I think ewcm is well named for eggwhites, in that it holds together and is more "gelationous" than a straight fluid. How's that for a graphic answer? But I know what you mean. When I first started charting, I couldn't really tell the difference between semen and ewcm, but it's finally starting to get obvious to me. But I'm not so worried anymore because it comes at the same time every month, and since we wait to start intercourse until I see it, once I see it, I don't pay any more attention, because we're already engaged in the mission, so to speak, through day 20.
