What exactly causes the waters to break? From: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Nov 2001 04:15:25 -0600 (CST)
Just wondering why/how this happens...and why it doesn't in the case of some women. Also, this may sound silly, but is it possible for a baby to poke a hole through the sac when it's big and moving around a lot? I'm now 37.5 weeks and the baby's movements are becoming increasingly less comfortable whenever I'm seated at a desk or table (that's when he likes to move the most for some reason). The pressure around what is presumably my cervix can get very uncomfortable at times, and I'm concerned he's literally stretching things to potential breaking point! Thanks for your time.
