Are the causes of spontaneous miscarriage vs. missed miscarriage different?

I read somewhere that missed miscarriages are almost always due to genetic problems in the fetus, and are often one-time occurences. The same source stated that spontaneous miscarriages happen for that reason as well, but also indicated that *miscarriages due to low progesterone would more likely present as spontaneous miscarriages*.

Is this true?

Sorry, I've asked this before, but I guess I wasn't clear about my question!

Thanks.
