Let me preface this by saying that I'm a very anxious person by nature. Last weekend my husband and I rescued a cat up in the hills and took her to an animal shelter after about two days. During that time my husband cleaned her cat litter and we kept her in a rabbit cage in the storm room of the house where we were staying. I only pet her head through the cage and always washed my hands afterwards. A few days later I started reading more about toxoplasmosis and I started to have an anxiety attack that I may have contracted toxoplasmosis simply by being in the same room as the kitty. Should I be tested anyway? I've since calmed down and my husband thinks I'm completely overeacting, but I'd just like confirmation from others that this is probably the case. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks for your time.
