1st Pregnancy Down Syndome & 2nd Pregnancy Trisomy 16 miscarriageFrom: Kelly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 Nov 2001 21:23:18 -0600 (CST)
My first pregnancy resulted in a beautiful little girl with Down Syndrome (trisomy 21). I have recently had a miscarriage for which the results were determine it was due to Trisomy 16. My husband and I went for genetic counselling after our daughter was born, but the clinicians felt that it was highly unlikely that our daughter's Down Syndrome was due to genetics and therefore, we have not received any testing. My question is could these 2 scenarios be related and should we now undergo testing for translocation?
