night shift, not sleeping and pregnancyFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netWed, 28 Nov 2001 07:56:33 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I am almost 13 weeks pregnant. I had a really good u/s last week and the baby measured right for dates, HR 160 bpm (and is aropund that each time on home doppler). I work rotational shifts and have just gone onto nights again. These are 12 hours. I find it very difficult to get more than four hours of sleep at any one time in the day. What are the chances that this may cause my baby to miscarry? Can lack of mothers sleep lead to baby's fatigue? I am really anxious as I have been having 8 hours sleep plus for the duration of this pregnancy until now. I would appreciate any help :o)
