babys heart rateFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netMon, 26 Nov 2001 06:05:57 -0600 (CST)
hello, I am almost 13 weeks pregnant. I had a scan last week which showed a healthy looking fetus, hr160bpm. I use a home doppler and since 9 1/2 weeks have found the baby's heart rate and it has been consistently around 160-165bpm. For the last 5 days or so, the baby/s heart rate seems to be around 140-155bpm. I can also hear the baby kicking and moving as it sounds like when I poke my belly. I understand from the archives that the babys heart rate will lower but thought that that would be later in pregnancy. Is it normal for the baby's heart rate to have lowered this early in pregnancy? does it indicate that the heart may be slowing to stop? Thankyou for your help
