cyst found on baby's brain during level II U/SFrom: Devin (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 24 Nov 2001 10:50:22 -0600 (CST)
I went to a perinatologist for a level II u/s yesterday based on my age (35). My AFP had come back negative. A cyst was found on the right lobe which is a marker for Trisomy 13. He searched for other markers but did not find any. Hand was open, the baby measured the right size, no cleft lip and the heart seemed normal. He said we have a 99 percent chance for a healthy baby. My husband and I are considering having an amnio to ease our minds. My question is: If the amnio turns out to be negative, what effect will the fluid-filled cycst have on the baby? Will it go away?
