Miscarriage, then and nowFrom: L. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 24 Nov 2001 10:02:31 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I have a question regarding recovery of normal cycles after miscarriage. I completed a missed miscarriage in September, at almost 12 weeks, LMP. It took me 37 days to ovulate after that. In this subsequent cycle, it has been 22 days, I feel a follicle in there ready to pop, have fertile cervical fluid, but nothing is happening. I am 36 and have borderline PCOS. This does not stop me from having regular 31-33-day ovulatory cycles. This post-miscarriage irregularity has not always been the case with me. I once lost baby at 19 weeks, and ovulated 27 days later. I was back on track almost immediately with regular cycles. Why are things screwed up now??? Is it that the pregnancy ended during a time of higher hCG levels, or what? I'm afraid my PCOS might be taking a turn for the worse. Thank you. Beth
