I took 100 mg of clomid on days 3-7. Then on day 10, the rn found just one follicle of 19 mm and several small ones. She gave me a shot of hcg that morning. I got an iui on day 11 and another one on day 13. Sunday was on day 12 and the office wasn't open, so we tried naturally that day. But here is my question: Does an lh surge mean anything after an hcg shot? The nurse told me I would ovulate 24-36 hours after the hcg shot, which was administered on day 10. However, I got a strong lh surge on the morning of day 12, a day after I supposedly ovulated. I was wondering if an hcg shot triggers the lh surge, which then triggers ovulation. Or does the hcg shot always trigger ovulation 24-36 hours afterwards, rendering the results of an lh test meaningless. Thanks. I searched all over the internet and didn't find anything about this particular issue.
