Hi, Last week I had my second m/c in 6 months. It was a blighted ovum; I was 9 wks and all the u/s showed was an empty sac and yolk sac which measured about 5 wks. My hcg level was 8800. In April, I had a d&c at 12 wks when the u/s showed no h/b and baby had stopped developing at 9w3d (after seeing h/b at 8w6d). On both pgs, I conceived the fifth month of trying. I am 40 years old and have 2 healthy kids - a son who is turning 4 this week and a daughter who is turning 6 in one month. My family practitioner wants to refer me to a specialist to do some tests to see if there is a reason for these m/cs. Here are my ?'s: 1. What kind of tests can I expect to be done? 2. Do the drs here think it is likely that there is a cause other than advanced (sigh) maternal age? 3. Is it worth having the tests? Thank you for any input. The drs and other medical professionals here are so great to give so freely of their time - we all appreciate it so much. Alison
