The Final Word on Timing of BD?

I have read differing opinions on this forum of how often to have intercourse in order to conceive. I've heard that you should:

--do it every other day throughout the cycle to ensure that there is adequate sperm production, but also adequate time for sperm to regenerate between BDs, --do it on the day BEFORE expected ovulation --I've also heard that you should do it on the day you get an OPK+, and again the next day and the day after that (every 24hrs during fertile period).

Here's my question: My DH and I are following the "every other day" method this time, and using OPKs. If my OPK+ falls on an "off" day, do I go ahead and have sex anyway on the day of the OPK+ (making it every 24hrs) and risk inadequate sperm re-generation? Or is it safe to keep going with the "every other day" and skip the OPK+ day? Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond!
