Treatment for Bronchitis while pregnant?From: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 11 Nov 2001 19:16:28 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I am 16 weeks pregnant. Two weeks ago I came down with the flu - the major symptoms (fever, achiness) disappeared after 4-5 days, but I have had a terrible cough ever since. I cough so hard that I trigger the gag reflex, wake up at night, leave meetings etc... I'm not particularly congested, and I have no other symptoms. I live and work in a smoke-free environment, and have no pets. Last pregancy, I developed bronchitis with bronchospasms, and was treated with albuterol and a prescription cough syrup. Is there an over the counter cough suppressant I can take while I am trying to get in to see the doctor? I have tried regular Robitussin, but it doesn't help. Thanks so much!!!!
