How long does it take for your body temp to get to basal? From: Anon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 8 Nov 2001 19:10:16 -0600 (CST)
I bought a new digital BBT thermometer yesterday. I've never done temping before so I decided to read all of the instructions last night so that I would know how to do it the next morning without too much trouble. After lying in bed reading for a 1/2 hour, I took my temp. It seemed awfully low for a normal temp: (97.3). More like a basal. The next morning after 7 hours of sleep, I got the same 97.3 reading. I know the thermometer was working because I got the appropriate beeps. Is it possible for the body temp to go down to basal level after only 1/2 hour of resting? This would be helpful if it were true, as I am a restless sleeper and wake up frequently in the middle of the night. I had never temped before bc I didn't think it would work after so little sleep. Thanks!
