11 week miscarriage preventable with Clomid/Progesterone?From: Lucy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 7 Nov 2001 14:01:49 -0600 (CST)
I recently had a miscarriage at 11 weeks. My doctor feels that it is likely because of a progesterone deficiency. My first pregnancy (successful) was achieved with Clomid and progesterone supplements, but that was because I had a lpd and couldn't get pregnant without Clomid. The latest pregnancy occurred without Clomid and it seems odd to me that the doctor believes an 11 week pregnancy was lost due to low progesterone, especially since I was tested early on and my level was fine. From what I read the more likely cause was chromosonal, especially since my age is 35. But he doesn't want me to try to get pregnant again except on Clomid, and I am scared to try without Clomid and then lose another pregnancy. I guess what I'm wondering is, does it seem likely that at 11 weeks a miscarriage would occur due to low progesterone? Thanks!
