8 weeks and spotting - scared!

I am just starting my 8th week of pregnancy and have been spotting brown since Tuesday PM after an exam. I told the nurse about this on Wednesday and again on Friday but she says as long as it is brown I am OK. My HCG was 31,000 on Tuesday and my progesterone was 11.5. The progesterone seemed low to me but the nurse said I was normal for 1st trimester. I have had a previous miscarriage that started as brown staining and am very scared. I also have an ultrasound scheduled for Friday but am worried I may miscarry before then. Should I be concerned about the progesterone level? If so, what should I do since the nurse at my doctor's office didn't seem to be concerned about it?
