SA was okay, count on post-coital was not. Cause for concern? From: AM (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 1 Nov 2001 10:09:51 -0600 (CST)
My husband had a semen analysis last month which came back with a total count of 601 million, volume 4.25, concentration 142/ml, motility 76/ml, progression 3.5-4, and morphology 21%. My RE's office said that there wasn't any reason for concern with this count. But this morning I had a post-coital (2 hours after intercourse, day 13 of cycle). Nurse said CM was great, no evidence of infection, but count was a bit low with only about 5 per screen/slide. She said they like to see 10. I know sperm count can fluctuate, but if my husband's count was only half what it should be, does this signify a problem? Should we investigate further? Could something drastic happen in just a month? We haven't changed our habits at all. Thanks you so much for any answers.
