Any Hope of Viability?

Hi. Lmp was Sept. 6th. According to fertility monitor, I ovulated on cd12 (9/17). Positive hpt at 10dpo (9/28). I had pink staining on 9/30 which dr said was probably implantation. 2 wks later, I had brown cm when I wiped. This lasted 1 day. On 10/28th, I had more brown cm. It turned pinkish overnight and my dr ordered an u/s on the 29th. The u/s showed a gestational sac and yolk sac measuring about 5w3d with no fetal pole. This was about 2 wks less far along than I thought given my ovulation date and positive hpts. A blood test showed hcg count of about 8200. My staining (no cramps) has continued over the past few days but has gone back to brown. My dr said that the hcg numbers correlated to the size of the sac so he does not want to do anything until I have another blood test on Friday and see what the numbers are doing.

Is there any chance I am off on my dates given that I use a monitor and had a positive test so early?

If this is a blighted ovum (which is what I believe), when I can expect the m/c to start and finish?

My dr said if hcg doesn't increase, I can get a shot to speed things along (I had a d&c for missed m/c in April at 11 wks with a fetus which measured only 9w3d with no h/b and I don't want another one). What is the shot and how long does it take?

5) I have two children (5 and 3). I am 40 and on this pg and the last, I conceived on the 5th cycle. Are my m/cs anything other than age-based and bad luck?

Thank you. Alison
