Partial Molar pregnancyFrom: Ryan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Oct 2001 21:48:36 -0600 (CST)
My wife had a partial molar pregnancy. It was caught early and a D&C was performed. Her HCG has dropped every week and it has been negative for the past 2 weeks. Our doctor wants to have her HCG tested once a month for a year. We have read that doctors test once a month from 6 months to a year after the HCG level is negative 2 weeks in a row. Why would we need to wait a year instead of six months? We think we were told a year because this is the partial molar pregnancy he has seen. What are the disadvantges of waiting only 6 months before we try getting pregnant again? Thank you for you help and answer.
