Bladder infection

My doctor did the blood test at 3 weeks dpo, the pregnancy test was positive. However, he also found that I have a bladder infection and would need to take antibiotics for that. Is it advisable to take any such medication now? Is it better to take it after 12 weeks? I have no symptoms of teh infection (blood in urine, urination every hour etc). What could be the side effects to teh baby?
