It is not entirely clear, but the fact that you develop gestational diabetes may indicate that you may be prone to a degree of glucose intolerance, even when not pregnant. You are older than your previous pregnancy and your ability to compensate for the insulin resistance created by the pregnancy may not be as good... Lynn
