how long do contraceptive pills remain in the body and do they have any harm? From: Barbara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Oct 2001 16:00:00 -0600 (CST)
One book says some remaining stuff of the oral contraceptive pills still remain in your system for 6 months after the last pill and they would cause birth defects if you conceive within 6 months after being off it because our reproductive cells are much more fragile than other cells of our body. Is this true? I guess at least it's not true for all kinds of the pills. Is contraceptive pill so bad, even worse than general meds? I'm thinking about whether to use it as a method of contraception. Thanks for your reply!
