So Puzzled - In terms of medication what's the best thing to do to avoid the risk of chromosome problems or other birth defects?

1. I have read from this site that typically with medication the waiting period of 3 months means 3 complete cycles. But is it the best to wait for 3 cycles after the last pill before trying again, speaking of class c medicine? If the day when the last pill was taken was at mid-cycle, do you have to count the next cycle as the first cycle of the 3-cycle waiting period? 2. I read from webmd.com the caution for taking a class c drug which says: use contraception while taking it and continue to use contraception after finishing the last pill until it has been 2 months at time of ovulation. So is it suggesting a 2-cycle waiting period? But the same caution is not seen for other class c drugs and strangely one week later when I went back to the site again the above caution was no longer there. new findings? 3. I also read from this site that you can try 1 or 2 days after being off the meds; but I also read that the egg you will conceive with has started growing two months ago then isn't the egg already exposed to the meds? So I'm so puzzled as to what's the best thing to do in order to conceive a baby with no chromosome problem or any other birth defects. I really appreciate your answer to clear up my mind!
