Because the HSG is done right after you have your period like day 5-9 and you are not releasing an egg at that time. At ovulation midcycle you will release the egg. I can understand your question but if your theory were true then any x-ray you ever had would ruin all your eggs. We are born with all the eggs we will ever have at birth and thru life all eggs would have been exposed if you had an x-ray. Hope that helps.
