How to accurately determine whether ovulation really happened? From: AM (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Oct 2001 12:42:38 -0600 (CST)
Okay, so I have read the only 100% way to know whether ovulation occured is a pregnancy. But that hasn't happened for me. In your practice, what is the next best proof that a woman actually ovulates? I ask because I am seeing an RE but don't see how he concludes that I must be ovluating on my own. (progesterone at 23 dpo was 10; he says an ultrasound done on day 23 shows evidence of ovulation; physical exam shows CM typical of post-ovulation; and my BBT charts show a rise from pre-o temps of about 98.1 to post-o temps about 98.7). I have tried OPK's but never get a surge. In your opinion, should I trust his judgement that I am indeed ovulating? [RE says clomid and IUI is the next treatment; have already done SA, HSG and lap-- all normal]
