They can cause miscarriage and recurrent miscarriage, and in pregnancies that progress beyond the first trimester, they can cause growth restriction, preterm labor, and failure to thrive. The test is done in only a few, large labs, and depending on where you are, it has to be shipped out. That can take a week or two.
