Fetal Measurements - Chromosomal Abnormalities?From: chris (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 25 Oct 2001 18:13:14 -0500 (CDT)
I had an u/s done yesterday and the following are the fetal measurements: BPD 3.96 cm = 18.1 menstrual weeks HC 14.31 cm = 17.6 mw AC 11.51 cm = 17.3 mw FL 2.23 cm = 16.7 mw HL 2.22 cm = 16.9 mw My last menstrual period was 6/27/02. The found a choroid plexus cyst. Cerebran ventricles and posterior fossa normal in size. The fetal cranium, spine and abdominal wall intact. Four cardiac chambers, three cord vessels and normal cord insertion were seen. No abnormalities were seen at the renal level. The fetal stomach and urinary bladder were normal in size and position. Amount of amniotic fluid normal. Placental location is posterior. Cervical length normal. No myomas or adnexal mass seen. Normal fetal movements and cardiac activity noted on real time examination. I'm wondering whether the measurements are abnormal. Are the FL and HL too small? My husband is Japanese and they do have shortish legs. I'm worried about chromosomal abnormalities. I'm 37 years old. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Chris : )
