Re: ultrasound measurements

I have a similar concern- my baby measured 4.6 mm at 6 weeks 4 days, which corresponded to a gestational age of 6 weeks 1 day. Heart rate was 122. I was worried, but my OB said that ultrasound dating has a confidence interval of +/-4 days either way, so he wasn't worried. He also said that a lot depends on how the tech positions the markers when taking the measurement. I just had another ultrasound the other day at 11 weeks 4 days and now the baby is 48 mm, which is still too small- I think that corresponded to a gestational age of 10 weeks? Heart rate this time was 168, which is great. Still, I'm concerned- I didn't get a chance to ask the doctor about this, so now I'm all worried about intrauterine growth retardation!
