Re: (Sub-chorionic?) hemorhageFrom: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 21 Oct 2001 17:37:00 -0500 (CDT)
Laura -- well normal it certainly is not. I too had a subchor. bleed with my first. I had an u/s from weeks 7 to 20 when the bleeding finally stopped. it did get progressively heavier at times. Interestingly, while i was not put on bed rest, I WAS told no intercourse, orgasm or exercise (so as to keep the uterus from contracting and making the bleeding worse). As long as the fetal sac grows the docs were not so concerned that proportionately the clot also grew. At some point it must have been absorbed because it disappeared. I am now at 36 weeks with #3. And I have bled in the first trimester with all 3 though nothing as bad as the first. All have gone 40 weeks plus. I think seeing the heartbeat raises the chances of NOT miscarrying to something approaching 95%. Good luck to you.
