chances of miscarriageFrom: anon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 21 Oct 2001 11:32:04 -0500 (CDT)
Hello all, I had a miscarriage in august which was very early (at 5 weeks). I did not have a period afterwards, instead I am roughly 7 weeks pregnant. (I think that I am 7 weeks 2 days) I had my hcg & progesterone levels followed this pregnancy and they were terrific. I had an U/S last week which was done trans ABDO, so they did not date the pregnancy properly (i am to return in three weeks for that) but a baby with a strong heart beat of around 140 bpm was seen. I have read that & 7 weeks if a heart beat is seen that is normal, the chance of m/c falls to around 5 %. M<y question is this, as my babys heartbeat was visualised at around 6 weeks (and again two days later as I went for a reassurance scan) is the rate of miscarriage now 5% or is it higher? Thankyou for your insight and help, sorry for the lenth of this post :o)
