Bleeding every 72 hours duromg pregnancy?From: Alex (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 20 Oct 2001 01:33:14 -0500 (CDT)
My wife is about to enter into her 10th week of pregnancy. Over the last 4 weeks of the pregnancy, she has bled approximately every 72 hours (3 days). It is light bleeding, follwed by some spotting then it goes away. No cramping or pain is involved. We spoke with our doctor a few weeks ago. He had us have an ultrasound. We saw the embreyo, and they said it has a strong heartbeat and looked fine. They also noticed a blood clot next to the egg sack(or yolk sack?) and he also noticed that my wife has a cyst on each ovary. Ovarian cysts are common in my wifes family. The doctor didnt seemed concerned at all with anything he saw. He said we'll go back in in 6 weeks fo another ultrasound to watch the cysts, and he thinks the clot will re-absorb. But, he didnt have any reason for the bleeding. Should we be really concerned about the bleeding? It is very scary and doesnt seem good.
