Doc opinion on whether I should ask for membrane stripping and if I should try and naturally induce laborFrom: Jenny (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 18 Oct 2001 13:33:52 -0500 (CDT)
I am 37 weeks and 3 days with second baby. I have a doc appt tomorrow. I was 2 cm and the baby was low (possibly 0 station) last week. I have had pretty regular Braxton Hicks contractions all week and have had the "nesting" urge. I am really wanting to go into labor this weekend, due to my job (the sooner labor starts the more time I get off), my sons birthday is next wednesday, Halloween, husband's/coach's work schedule, etc. Would it be advisable for me to try to induce myself. I have been having intercourse about every other day and wanted to try nipple simulation (except when I tried it earlier today I was actually expressing colustrum, so was not sure if this was advisable). I also thought I might ask my doc to strip my membranes. As a doctor, would you be willing to strip membranes in a patient like me. Would this even help? Any other suggestions to try and get labor started? Thanks, Jenny
