Re: Single Umbilical ArteryFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netWed, 17 Oct 2001 13:26:55 EDT
I just gave birth to my son in August. He too had a two vessle cord. My dr told me it could have effects on his heart or his kidneys..so they gave me fetal scans every couple weeks up until the last trimester when they increased them because the last trimester is when i was told if it was gonna affect him as far as his heart and kidneys went this would be the time frame more then likely. The dr also told me that two vessle babies are usually a bit smaller then other babies..My son was born 7pd..15oz..and thats pretty good for a TVC. I looked up on the web with the keyword being Two vessle cord and i got all kinds of information about it..hope you find what your looking for...and I wouldnt worry much about it..its not that uncommon!! Best wishes, christy
