Dr Braun, my husband and I are both very thankful for your honest response to our question. My husband would like for me to ask you if it is more likely that he is the father considering the early ultrasound dating or it is really a 50:50 chance. if you were to take an educated guess being an expert on this subject what would you say. Please don't feel obliged to reply but this would be greatly appreciated.

>>Something horrible happened 20th of May. I was raped. I
>>live in a country where could have only been the woman's fault(if
>>you understand), so I continued my life as normal. My period was due to
>>start on the 23rd or 24th of May on 26 day cycle. I had some light spotting for just over 2 days so it was not like a normal period
>>at all. I contributed this to the traumatic experience I had. Well, My husband has been very supportive and since we had been
>>ttc for some time we decided I was not going to let the experience
>>hinder our ttc so we started trying again on the 28th of May.
>>Well I am now 20 wks pregnant. I took an HPT 30th June and
>>was +. Went to doc right away that day and explained confidentially about what had happened to me as my husband and I were very worried about the father of this baby. The doctor measured the sac with US and measured 4weeks6 days with +\- 8 day possible error. 4wks6days dates to 28th of May. She said i conceived after my strange period. Then had crl measurement 10 days
>>later and dated 7wks2days with +\- 4 day error, 7wks2days dates to 21st
>>of May. 10 week US measured crl at 10 wks 3days dating to 25th
>>of May with +\- possible error.

>Of all the Ultrasounds, the first CRL measurement is most accurate.
>Only DNA testing of the child and your husband after delivery will tell
>for sure. Don't do that unless you are sure that you WANT to know and
>that you can deal with the results whatever they are. Have your child
>and love him or her. At this point it appears there are no other
>options.
