Jan -- I was sick with a cough/cold with my first (as was my husband). It lingered 4 or 5 days after I delivered. My pediatrician said not to worry -- the baby would not get sick from me or thru breast feeding. She was right. SHe did, however, caution my husband to wash his hands before handling the baby and wear a mask until he was better. >
